Salvage Art

$80.00

Salvage Art, Sustainable Art Making, Sculpture Art, Masks
Art Instructor: Barbara Byers
Adults, mature teens welcome
July 21-25 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm
Meets in the Art Ed room at The Arts Center. Supplies included.

Description: Have you ever looked at your recycling bin and thought, “that empty yogurt container would make a perfect structure base for a bison mask..” ? Join Barbara Byers for a week of guided salvage art! All you need to bring is a collection of discardable items (cleaned) such as paper towel rolls, plastic containers (especially #3 and up, since those typically can’t be recycled, though bring some #1s and #2s as well, as they’re usually more pliant and forgiving for reshaping), bottle tops and plastic twisties, discarded garden hoses, anything with a little structural integrity. Together we will get our creative ideas flowing and, through the power of adhesives, papier-mâché and paint, turn our trash into gorgeous masks, sculptures, art pieces, costume pieces, whatever your creative life is looking for!

Get ready for your next Fasnacht event for 2026 and make your own awesome mask!
