Log Cabin Quilters Guild Exhibition

  • The Arts Center 2 PARK ST ELKINS, WV 26241 US (map)

Opening Reception: December 3rd, from 4-6PM.

The purpose of the Log Cabin Quilters’ Guild is to promote and preserve the tradition of quilt making and encourage fellowship among members.

Through various activities, the Guild strives to build community, creativity, and charitable giving.  This is accomplished by having educational programs, and several workshops throughout the year to learn new techniques and to make quilts for charity projects namely, “Quilts for Dialysis Patients” and a “Quilt of Valor” for a female veteran.  Informal sewing sessions called Sip & Sews (lemonade in summer – cocoa in winter) and overnight retreats offer uninterrupted, focused time for quilting which lead to creative rejuvenation and productivity  These settings are a great opportunity for skill development and relaxation.  Their annual Log Cabin Quilt Show is an opportunity for local residents & out-of-towners to gather, appreciate local artistry, connect with the quilters, and learn about the process of quilt making.

This coming year, 2026, the Log Cabin Quilters’ Guild will celebrate 40 years of quilt making as an organized group.  It began with seven members who met during the summer of 1986 & opened it to membership in the autumn.  From these seven “founding quilters”, the Guild has well over 80 members today; evidence that this rich and versatile craft has enduring appeal & is flourishing with each new member.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month

at St. Brendan Catholic Church (Parish Hall) at 6:30pm in Elkins, WV.
