With sand in his blood and orange blossom honey in his soul, Doug Spears is a fifth-generation Florida native whose songs often reflect the backroads and deep-rooted stories of his rural heritage. For more than 30 years, Doug has brought his distinctive blend of storytelling, songwriting, and musicianship to listening rooms, house concerts, festivals, and concert venues across the country.  That touring led him through northern WV where he fell in love with its natural beauty and the kind, generous folks that call it home.

Rooted in the Americana and folk traditions, Doug’s warm acoustic sound draws comparisons to iconic singer-songwriters like Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and James Taylor.   His music is marked by thoughtful lyrics, memorable melodies, and a natural ease on stage that invites audiences to lean in and listen.  Doug’s original songs have been heard on independent radio throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe, earning him a loyal following wherever he travels.  In every performance he delivers songs that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar—music rooted in place, shaped by time, and carried by a storyteller who knows exactly where he comes from.  Doug and his wife, Judy, make their homes in Flagler Beach, Florida, and Parsons, West Virginia.
