Artist Trees of Elfkins - Prospectus

To celebrate the Holiday season, the Arts Center invites artists, businesses, nonprofits, and student artists in Randolph County to enter the Artist Trees of Elfkins Exhibition! This exhibition is a celebration of Elkins’ vibrancy, community, and artistry, as well as the holiday season. Bring your own tree - approved dimensions below.

Theme: Tree themes must be submitted for approval. Themes should reflect the artwork on your tree. For example, ‘Woodlands Critters’ theme: all artwork is watercolor paintings reflecting woodland creatures. Artistic interpretation of the theme is strongly encouraged! If you have any questions, please reach out ASAP: director@randolpharts.org

Trees must be original artwork created by the artist, business, or nonprofit. Each tree will be accompanied by an artist's statement to reflect the project. Artworks on the tree can be sold, or if the artist chooses, just for display. Artists are responsible for creating their own tags for this exhibition (title, medium, price, artists’ name). Please reach out if you need tag guidance!

What to Expect

Artwork featured in a professionally installed exhibition.

Approximately 7 weeks public display time- Visibility among community members, patrons, tourists and supporters.

Display time includes our busiest season - Holiday Artist Market, Holiday Brown Bag.

Opportunities for artwork sales, building rapport in Elkins, enhancing brand awareness, publicity opportunities.

Entry Information

Entry Fee: Artist Members: $15 for 1 tree.

Nonmembers $20, Businesses $30, Nonprofit Organizations: $25 for 1 tree.

Eligibility: Artists, Student Artists, businesses & nonprofits in Randolph County.

Artwork Requirements: Original handcrafted work only, All media welcome, No AI-generated artwork. Works must be ready to hang from trees as ornaments (use thread to make a hoop, ornament hooks work too).

For businesses: you may include a few branded bulbs, but not every bulb can be branded.

Approved Tree dimensionsTrees may be smaller than the dimensions below, but not larger.

Height: 6ft - 7ft Diameter: 2- 3 ft wide (Skinny Pencil Trees).

Note: no glass bulbs. Participants need to provide their own tree.

Important 2026 Dates

July 2026 - application opens, call goes live

September 4th, EOD — Application/Registration deadline

November 30th - In-person art installation from 9:30-4:30pm or by appointment, Payment due at drop-off.

December 2nd - Opening Reception 5-7PM.

December 2nd – January 22nd— Exhibition on display (7 weeks, not including Holiday Break)

January 25th, 2027 — Artwork pickup, 10 am to 4 pm or by appointment
