Sticky Notes to Bold Mixed-Media Paintings
Unleash spontaneity and play! Start small w/ one sticky note, and one Sharpie and see where the mark takes you. In this workshop, instructor Brantley, guides you from quick, fearless ink sketches to finished mixed-media project. Expect playful prompts, hands-on demos, and plenty of creative freedom.
What you’ll do
-Warm up with bold, confident Sharpie and pen exercises on sticky notes.
-Explore inking techniques: line weight, texture, hatching, and dynamic gesture.
- Translate sticky-note ideas into larger compositions.
- Layer acrylics, collage, and other mixed-media effects to build depth and personality.
- Experiment with unexpected tools and approaches to keep your work fresh and surprising.
Who it’s for Beginners and experienced artists who want to loosen up, break habits, and discover new ways to jumpstart original artwork.
Why it’s fun This process celebrates accidents, impulses, and quick decisions—turning small, silly sketches into serious, expressive paintings. As Brantley says, “I started painting because of this process and now I try to implement it into my art.” Let loose with your art and see what wild, wonderful pieces you create.
