Handmade mugs are such a fun and functional pottery project. By adding your favorite textures and patterns, you create a unique one of a kind mug that reflects your personality. In this workshop, you will learn basic mug hand-building skills from slabs. This project is suited for the mature beginner student, and returning mug students are welcome! Class is approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on your design, glaze choices and speed of work.
At the end of class, you'll have a one-on-one glaze consultation with your instructor. After work dries to a leather hard stage, it is fired twice in our on-site kiln, and will be ready for pick up in approximately 2 weeks from your class date. There is nothing like pottery to teach you patience!
This class is meant to be fun! Take it as many times as you want. When you see beautiful pottery, what you did not see is the thousands of mugs the potter spent making prior to that… Practice makes perfect!
