Introduction to wet felting, Adults
Date: January 13, from 5:30 to 8:30
Cost $40 Members and $52 Non Members
Class Description: Learn the magic of transforming fluffy wool roving into a sturdy piece of felt using only your hands, some water, and a couple basic tools. Felting is considered the oldest form of textile making in the world. While only a few nomadic cultures still rely on housing made of wool, the skill of wet felting is equally applicable to the creation of wearable and decorative items. In this class beginners will learn properties of various wools, why felting works, and all of the steps to create and decorate a feted square which can be used as a trivet.
