Pam has been making jewelry and doing art since her college days. She enjoys using themes from nature in her art including leaves, plants, animals, stones, and flowers, whether it be on paper or in her jewelry. Pam creates watercolor paintings, pen and ink drawings, and in the past several years, she has been painting with alcohol ink. This medium tends to have a mind of its own, flowing into spaces and creating shapes and figures unexpectedly. In some of her alcohol ink paintings, she brings a shape forward by darkening in the space around it. This negative painting process gives some control in a medium that does not want to be controlled. Pam has taken watercolor classes with several watercolor artists including Kay Gillispie and Linda Turner who both reside in West Virginia. Like alcohol ink, watercolor often ebbs and flows of its own volition. Pam makes jewelry using sterling silver, gold-fill metal, and copper. She does wire wrap, uses semi-precious stones, and does copper work using hammering, riveting, and stamping. You can find earring, necklaces, bracelets, and even fan pulls in her displays. Pamis also a musician and has a CD available, Where the Heart Lands. The CD features original tunes along with three jazz standards. Pam has work displayed in two galleries in West Virginia; Artists at Work in downtown Elkins and West Virginia Artisans Gallery in Davis.
