After School Art Teaching Artist
Make Art. Make a Mess. Make an Impact.
The Randolph County Arts Center is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and dependable Teaching Artist to lead our After School Art (ASA) Program! ASA gives students a chance to step outside the traditional classroom to create, experiment, get messy, and have fun with art. We’re looking for someone who can bring their own creativity and energy to the classroom while helping students discover what they can make and do. You’ll have the freedom to develop engaging, age-appropriate projects using a variety of art forms such as painting, pottery, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, crafts, and whatever creative ideas you bring to the table. No two classes have to look the same!
What You’ll Do
Lead engaging, hands-on art projects for students in a fun and supportive classroom environment
Design and organize creative, age-appropriate art projects
Encourage students to explore, experiment, problem-solve, and express themselves through art
Provide guidance and assistance while allowing students to develop their own ideas and creativity
Create a positive classroom environment using encouragement and appropriate classroom management
Help students with classroom setup, organization, and cleanup
Collaborate with the Arts Center to provide a safe, welcoming, and enriching experience for every student
What We’re Looking For
A genuine passion for art and working with children
Experience working with students and/or families
A background, education, or demonstrated experience in the arts
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and a good sense of fun
Reliability, consistency, and punctuality
Ability to independently plan and lead a classroom activity
Ability to create a classroom where students feel encouraged, included, and excited to participate
Child Protection: All instructors must comply with the Randolph County Arts Center’s Child Protection Policy and obtain required clearances. The Arts Center will assist with the clearance process if needed.
