JUROR FOR THE FALL JURIED EXHIBITION IS SUSAN JOHNSTON.

Johnston has been active in the arts throughout her adult life. Earning her arts education degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, she then taught art in public schools, worked as an illustrator and feature artist in HousePlant Magazine from 1992 to 1994, served as an adjunct faculty member in painting, conducted watercolor workshops, and volunteered in various towns to help bring more arts programming to communities. She currently serves as a member of the Garrett County Arts Council board of directors.

The artist is a past state president of the West Virginia Watercolor Society, for which her emphasis was providing grass-roots opportunities for artists to learn, as well as exhibit works in their own communities.

Her paintings have been accepted in regional and national shows, at which she has garnered numerous awards. In addition to having her art on display at The Gallery Shop in Oakland, her work is included in public and private collections in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, Missouri, Delaware and West Virginia.
