Policies for the Arts Education Department

Child Drop-off and Pick-up Policy

The following policy applies to children enrolled in all art classes at The Arts Center.  In order to keep your child safe, please escort him/her to class every day.  If anyone other than yourself is to pick your child up, please write a note and give it to the instructor.  If someone other than a parent picks up a child, they must be able to provide a current photo ID. Please inform us in advance of persons that may pick up your child.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The Arts Center does not offer make-up classes or tuition reimbursement for student absenteeism. We will not prorate tuition for classes the student cannot attend.  If The Arts Center must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, the students will be notified and tuition will be reimbursed in full within 2 weeks of notification.

If the student cancels his/her enrollment in a course, the following cancellation policy will apply:

Class cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the start date of class. A refund will be issued, minus a 15% cancellation fee. A second option: The Arts Center is happy to apply the full amount of a cancelled class towards another art class. No refunds or credit will be given without 10 days notice.  Credit is nontransferable between students and may only be applied toward class tuition.

Attendance Policy

We encourage students to be present for all art classes. It gives children and teens a sense of accomplishment at a young age and what better way to do that, than with Art Education Classes; Art is Fun! We do not offer make up classes if your child is absent for any reason. Our instructors submit schedules months in advance and are unable to extend classes or offer additional time for absent children. Our instructors are professional artists with many other obligations and commitments!

Inclement Weather Policy

Snow Days: After school art will NOT run if there is a Snow Day! This is the only program affected by snow days. This is due to bus transportation from the schools. Scheduling is done well in advance and we are unable to flex class time.

Early Dismissals: Schools dismiss early for various reasons. We make every effort to be up to date on the school schedules. However, there is NO bus transportation for early dismissals. Class will continue as scheduled when there is an early dismissal. If there is severe weather, this may be reconsidered.

Other classes will run as scheduled dependent on the severity of weather.

Severe Weather: We make every effort possible to keep the schedules we have created. Severe weather conditions will be evaluated on individual basis.  If the weather is severe and driving conditions are hazardous and unsafe we may cancel and reschedule a class. Students would be notified asap.
