2007/08 Concert Series
| Saturday, April 5 - 8pm - The Saint Louis Brass Quintet, one of America's oldest brass quintets, will perform. Since its founding in 1964, the group has been featured at the Norway Brass Band Festival and performed in Bombay, India, Japan, Mexico, Germany, and Sweden. St. Louis Brass “is a wonderful ensemble, both in the technical sense and as an atmosphere that emanates from the stage." stated the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. |

Saturday, May 17 - 8pm - steaming up the end of the season is Old School Freight Train with their electrifying blend of jazz, Latin, Celtic, bluegrass, and pop acoustic music. This young Charlottesville, VA based group instantly carved their unique sound and gained a loyal local following. Hailed as “an emerging force to reckon with in today’s wide world of acoustic music,” by mandolin master David Grisman, the band has gained national recognition touring the country and winning awards at the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass and Rockygrass Bluegrass contests. |
As part of the Randolph County Community Arts Center’s Outreach program, performers from this Series, as well as the 2007-2008 Children’s Series, will present 15 concerts and workshops in area schools and community settings. Last year, the RCCAC Outreach Program provided over 21 concerts and workshops, serving 2,800 people at 13 different schools and one nursing home.
The RCCAC, a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts in Randolph County and the surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins. Tickets for all concerts are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. Season tickets for all eight concerts are available for $70.00 for adults, $55 for seniors, and $30 for students.

2007-08 Children’s Concert Series
The 2007-2008 Children’s Series, which kicks off on September 22nd and runs through May, includes four concerts. Season tickets and individual tickets are now available at the RCCAC office.

Saturday, February 9 - 4pm - Warming up winter is Zydeco-A-Go-Go performing with drums, bass, guitar, sax, accordion and rubboard, this group’s ZYDECO DANCE PARTY is sure to make every child want to get up and move during this interactive children’s concert. This six-piece dance band creates a pulsating energy of pure Louisiana dance music for all ages to enjoy.

| Saturday, May 3 - 7pm - Ilene Evans will round out the 2007- 08 Children’s Concert Series. As a dramatist, dancer and musician, Evans weaves a tapestry of stories, songs and poems into a captivating evening concert. Evans uses her rich voice, graceful body and expressive face to sweep the audience into strange and wonderful places, drawing lessons from harrowing tales of survival and challenge. Evans will present her rendition of the West African folk tale of Anansi. |
