The Blue and Gray Choir will present a
free
concert at the Randolph County Community Arts Center on Thursday, June 15th at
7PM. |
The Blue & Gray Choir was formed
by Reverend John Tenney and his wife, Darlene, in Philippi in 1987. The choir has been performing since that time under varying directorship. For the past four years, Dr. Jud Bracey of the Music Department at Alderson-Broaddus College, has been directing the choir. Members of the choir are mostly from Barbour County, but some travel from as far as Charleston to be part of the choir.
This year, the Blue & Gray Choir
will be singing selections from Church hymns as well as secular songs of the
Civil War era. The songs vary from comical to very poignant and are
wonderfully entertaining! |
