RCCAC Accepting entries to “Inspirations for Future Generations” Art Exhibit
The Randolph County Community Arts Center is accepting submissions from all current and retired elementary and secondary art teachers in Barbour, Lewis, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker, Upshur, and Webster counties to exhibit their work in the "Inspiration for Future Generations” Exhibit. The exhibit will run April 11th through May 19th with an opening reception set for Friday, April 11th.
"We wanted to provide art teachers in our region with the opportunity to exhibit their own works," according to RCCAC Executive Director Beth King. "Each year we showcase students works but have not had an opportunity specifically for the teachers of these students to exhibit their own works. We mailed information to all current teachers and as many retired teachers as we could get names and addresses for. We hope that those that received information will share it with others."
Teachers are asked to reserve their space by March 29th, 2008. Original two and three-dimensional works not previously exhibited at RCCAC are eligible. Acceptable media includes drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, clay, fiber, wood, glass, and metal. Jewelry will not be accepted due to display concerns.
Art teachers wishing to submit two pieces of work to this exhibit should call the RCCAC office at 637-2355 or e-mail info@randolpharts.org to reserve their space and to request a prospectus letter with exhibit details and requirements. The prospectus is also available at the Arts Center's website at www.randolpharts.org. The RCCAC, a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts in Randolph County and the surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins.
