Classes and Workshops

September through December 2016.

Fall and early winter classes are here. Wonderful summer camps and classes took place at The Arts Center. With only a few weeks off this summer, our instructors offer various classes between September 6 and December 16. There is limited space in each class, so register early. Classes must also meet a minimum number, so please don't wait until the last minute to register. 

*There are no art classes during the week of Forest Festival. We do have a beautiful art exhibit opening on October 5 at 6 pm. Join us, it is free and we proudly exhibit student work from Randolph County. There are no classes *Thanksgiving week or during the *Christmas Holiday. Please view our policy page here. 

Our art instructors are professionals. Check out their biographies to learn more about them. The Arts Center provides quality art education classes in small settings to everyone in the community. Get ready for Halloween and build, carve, and paint your jack o lantern out of clay. Candle included. Take home on Day 2. Cooper

Its time to decorate the tree and what   better way than with handmade ornaments! Hand crafted and painted, ready to go home on Day 2. Cooper

Open Studio Classes

           Open Studio Life/Figure Drawing

Thursdays, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Day of week varies

Life Drawing, also know as Figure Drawing, is an open studio time where artists meet to draw from a live model. This is an independent study time, with no instructor. Bring your own supplies. 

Open Studio Pottery $55 Price Adjustable for Drop Ins
Morning option available 10 am to 2 pm, M-F
Limit 4 sessions a month
Work independently in the pottery studio. Time to explore and advance your skills. Must possess basic skills in pottery and be     knowledgeable in the studio. Cost includes use of recycled clay; option to purchase new bag is optional ($25)

This asana-based, Hatha-style class focuses on strengthening and flexibility, including breathing and meditation practice. Open to all levels, this practice is accessible without a lot of complicated poses, props, or language. Each class is tailored to the individuals, with modifications to accommodate each. We will cover many different mediums in this class as we focus on the aspect of "seeing".  Sharpen your senses, and develop your creativity as you learn techniques to  broaden your horizons.  Ferguson

Tuesdays, from 11 am to 1 pm
Students will focus on painting landscapes in watercolor in this 3 day workshop. Each week brings a new focus: water landscapes,              sunrises/sunsets, mountains and more.           Improve brush skills, color mixing, techniques, etc. as we create each scene. Ferguson
