Teacher: Cheryl Ware - Author Cheryl Ware will lead this writing workshop, sharing her word craft with participants. Exchange ideas and information about developing characters, plots, and themes, and improve or develop your writing skills with advice from a published author.Students will exchange ideas and information about developing characters, plots, and themes, and improve or develop writing skills with advice from a published author. Ware has authored several children's books, including: "Flea Circus Summer," "Catty-Cornered," "Venola in Love," and "Roberta Price Has Head Lice!" She is also a writing consultant and travels the state helping students with their writing.

Fling into Motion! Highland Dancing for Children

Kindergarten - 5th grade Cost: $40 per one week session
Teacher: Jessica Johnson - Fling into Motion! Move your body to the upbeat tunes of traditional and contemporary bagpipes and fiddles as you learn the art of Celtic dance. Grab a kilt and a sword and prepare to leap and jump through traditional Highland and Irish step with a new age spin. With this great exercise you will gain understanding the important traditions of Scottish and Irish heritage by engaging in rhythm activities, games, and dance movements. In time, you will be familiarized with these ancient arts practiced all over the world. Great for all ages!

Little Fingers -
Mondays

Three to five year olds Cost: $60
Teacher: Alison Siewny - Preschoolers will experience creating and learning about art while making fun memories with their parents. "Little fingers" will enjoy making their own masterpieces using paint, clay, collage, and learn how to use various art tools such as scissors and glue, as well as techniques such as printmaking and color mixing. Activity times and projects will be age appropriate and will keep little fingers and minds engaged.
First Art - Mondays

One to three year olds Cost: $60
Teacher: Alison Siewny - This class will provide parents the opportunity to create art and special memories with their toddlers and pre-schoolers. Children will discover "first art" experiences such as learning about color, shape, and textures while creating art with various media, including paint, clay, collage and more. Project times will be appropriate for age level and be presented through a variety of ways to keep little wandering eyes and bodies involved.
Creative Play for Pre– K -

Ages 3 – 5 Cost: $60
Teacher: Linda Zimmer - Puppeteer and creative drama specialist Zimmer will lead students through a series of songs, stories, and simple puppet activities. Theater games will delight children and lay groundwork for developing aesthetics and creativity.

Around
the World with Art! - Mondays

Kindergarten - 5th grade Cost: $60
Teacher: Alison Siewny Students will investigate cultures from around the world while experiencing a variety of media. Two and three dimensional processes will include printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpture.
Acting With Puppets -
Fridays 11:30 – 1:00
Ages 6 – 8 Cost: $60
Teacher: Linda Zimmer - Even the shyest child can blossom when the focus is acting through a puppet. Zimmer will instruct her students in the design and construction of a simple puppet, teaching basic manipulation and vocal techniques as they develop a series of improvisational scenes.
Pottery: Hand Building Basics for Children -
Thursday 4:00 - 5:00
Kindergarten - 5th grade Tuition: $60
Teacher: Susan Pell - Using scoring and slipping, the students will form their slabs, coils, and pinch pots into fabulous creations of their choice in an open studio, self directed setting. Basic hand building skills will be introduced and developed. Previously enrolled students will continue to develop and learn basic hand building skills.

Mixed Media Classes and Workshops for Adults
Handstitched Heirloom Story Quilt -
Tuesdays

Teens and adults Cost: $65
Teacher: Lisbet Okun - Students will chose a moment in time that impressed them as memorable and unique and then express that thought in a quilt, to preserve that experience. Studnets should bring a bag of their favorite rags. No special prerequisites beyond using needle and thread.

Experienced Artists Cost: $40
Teacher: Open Studio - Experienced artists have studio time with a live model (clothed) to practice the drawing media of their choice in a supportive setting. Students participate in the set up and clean up of the Life Drawing Session
Painting and Mixed Media Exploration

Teens and Adults Cost: $60
Teacher: Amanda Chenoweth - This class will use paint as well as other media to express various ideas given different topics and activities. The class is great for anyone in any media to explore art as well as themselves and their ideas. Beginners will find the projects fun and inspiring and more advances artists will be refreshed and invigorated by all the ideas the class has to offer.
Music Class
Blues Guitar - Fridays

Teens and adults Cost: $60
Teacher: Richard Smith - Students will learn the history and roots of blues music while learning new skills on their instruments. Focus will be on the ability to play with other artists while learning the basics of the blues idiom. Participants will study and play various styles of blues, with the goal of playing and performing as a blues band. Students must have their own playable instrument. New students are welcomed to this ongoing group.

Teens and adults Cost: $60
Teacher: Susan Pell - Learn the fundamentals of hand building and throwing on the potter’s wheel, including centering, raising the wall, thinning, shaping, and trimming. Intermediate students will refine their throwing/building skills and learn new finishing techniques to bring their pottery to a higher level. First 25 pounds of clay/glazes included in cost. Each additional 25 pounds of clay/glazes $10. Limited enrollment of 6.
Feats of Clay -

Teens and adults Tuition: $60
Teacher: Joan Kefover - Beginning students will learn slab technique and other hand building principles as well as throwing pots on the wheel, and glazing and firing their sculptures and pots. Intermediate students can refine their techniques and develop existing skills. First 25 pounds of clay/glazes included in cost. Each additional 25 pounds of clay/glazes $10. Limited enrollment of 6.
Pottery Open Studio - TBA

Experienced Artists Tuition: $60
Experienced potters and sculptors can have studio time and use of the kiln with the support and fellowship of other potters and sculptors. Cost includes 25lbs of clay and all glazes. Additional clay can be purchased @ $15/ 25lbs. Open studio times set at the beginning of each session.
